Shaking shells

A variety of shells are shaken in a container to see which is the most resistant to
attrition.

Shells as way-up indicators
A P F 45 min
Small valves (pistachio shells work well) are placed in a tank on a bed of sand. Waves are
made to see if they affect the way-up of the valves and to determine if bivalves can be
used as way-up indicators.
